One such place Guiyu, of the Guandong Province, China, was found to have lead traces 2,400 times the World Health Organizations drinking water standards. Due to lead contamination all of Guiyu’s water must be trucked in from the outside area. The contamination arises from the burning of electronic waste to re-claim lead, copper and gold.
